💞 Dear Royal Praying Priests, shalom!

💎 “It is to be a statute to you forever, that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you are to afflict your souls, and do no kind of work—both the native-born and the outsider dwelling among you. For on this day atonement will be made for you, to cleanse you. From all your sins you will be clean before Adonai. It is a Shabbat of solemn rest to you, and you are to afflict your souls. It is a statute forever. (Lev 16:29-31, TLV)

💎 “We have an altar from which those serving in the tabernacle have no right to eat. For the bodies of those animals—whose blood is brought into the Holies by the kohen gadol (High Priest) as an offering for sin—are burned outside the camp. Therefore, to make the people holy through His own blood, Yeshua also suffered outside the gate. So let us go to Him outside the camp, bearing His disgrace. For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the one that is to come. (Heb 13:10-14, TLV)

Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, will begin on 27 September at sundown and end in the evening of 28 September. It foreshadows the greatest atonement of all, which is the sacrifice of our Lord Yeshua, the Messiah Himself.

In the First Covenant (Old Testament), the Holy Priest is not permitted to come at just any time into the Holy of Holies behind the curtain – before the atonement cover which is on the Ark, or He would die. Only on Yom Kippur, the Holy Priest enters the holiest place to make atonement for himself, for his household, and for all the assembly of Israel. On the cross when Yeshua gave up His spirit, the curtain of the Temple was split into two, from top to bottom. The earth quaked and the rocks were split apart. We have Yeshua, the great Kohen Gadol (High Priest) who inaugurated a new and living way for us through the curtain – that is, His flesh. Therefore, we are drawn near to the throne of grace with boldness to receive mercy and find grace for help in time of need! (Mat 27:51, Heb 4:14-16, 10:19-20)

On Yom Kippur, the High Priest casts lots for two goats – one for God, and the other lot for the scapegoat. The High Priest presents the goat on which lot for God fell and makes it a sin offering, but the goat upon which the lot for the scapegoat fell is to be presented alive before God and make atonement upon it, by sending it away as the scapegoat into the wilderness. The scapegoat is sent out of the camp to die for the sins of people. In the New Covenant (New Testament) during Yeshua’s time, Caiaphas was the High Priest and he mentioned that it is better that one man die for the people than for the whole nation to be destroyed. He prophesied that Yeshua would die for the nation. (Lev 16:20-22, Jhn 11:49-52)

When we look closely, it is truly amazing to find out that Yeshua is the Lamb that was slain to take away all our sins, and Yeshua is also the scapegoat that suffered outside the camp to make the people holy through His own blood. Yeshua is not only our atonement but He is also our High Priest who entered into the Holies once for all as eternal redemption!

Worship Song: Prophet, Priest, & King

🙏 Dear Heavenly Father, we are overwhelmed to see the depth and beauty of Your wisdom and all Your prophetic plans. Thank you for opening our eyes to see that Yeshua, Your beloved son, is the greatest and the most perfect atonement. We praise You for never forsaking us and sending Your son to die on the cross to pay for all our sins and set us free! In the Name of Yeshua we pray and bless you, Amen.
