🍞 Manna for Meditation 181

💎 “Moreover, as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against Adonai by ceasing to pray for you! Yet I will keep instructing you in the good and straight way.” (1Sam 12:23, TLV)

The Lord has been stretching BBPN tremendously since March. Firstly, it was the 30-Day Prayer and Fasting Month in March.  Secondly, it was the 40-Day Prayer and Fasting for Repentance, Renewal and Revival which just finished yesterday. Thirdly, it is the 30-Day Prayer for the Muslim World in April. Are you feeling tired, numb and growing cold because of being overwhelmed by a multitude of prayer requests every day? Or are you feeling excited, expectant and hopeful because your life has transformed and your prayerful territory has expanded through such intensive spiritual discipline?

One major challenge that intercessors face worldwide is prayerlessness and non-persistence, especially that we are now living in a world with information explosion which can lead to information overload often. Therefore, we may easily allow the prayer requests to slip through our fingers. How do we overcome such challenges and keep the fire burning on our altars and in our hearts?

  1. Repent

“But this I have against you, that you have forsaken your first love.” (Rev 2:4, TLV) Prophet Samuel says that prayerlessness is a sin against God, therefore, he never stops interceding for the Israelites. BBPN’s mission statement is to mobilise global missions empowered by a prayer movement – H2Z (From Mountains of Heaven to Mount Zion). If we have stopped praying for any reason somehow, may God’s kindness lead us to true repentance so that our first love is restored. We have to repent.

  1. Refocus

“Where there is no divine vision people cast off restraint, but blessed is the one who keeps Torah.” (Pro 29:18, TLV) BBPN’s vision statement is to connect global teams and resources for establishing a prayer and mission platform that transforms all nations. If we are engulfed by many different duties and then miss our main focus, may God’s kindness not only restore our first love, but also renew our divine vision.  We have to refocus.

  1. Reprioritise

So pay close attention to how you walk—not as unwise people but as wise. Make the most of your time because the days are evil. For this reason do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.” (Eph 5:15-17, TLV) Busyness is a killer to many believers in the fast-paced modern lifestyle. If we keep busy without proper rest or recharge, eventually you will lose all the energy.  May God’s kindness help us examine our time management and reprioritise the daily schedule to reflect our ultimate calling. We have to reprioritise.

To keep the fire burning bright on our altars and in our hearts, let us together repent, refocus and reprioritise.

🙏 Dear Father, we admit that there are so many disturbances that keep us away from praying constantly. Please help us concentrate regardless of the circumstances, address those things that drain our attention and make us exhausted, and purge distractions to stay in focus with You. If we need to tackle our tasks one by one, help us narrow the scope and stop trying to multitask. Please draw us near to You every day, so we can be recharged by your love and power, and live according to your Spirit and in freedom. In the Name of Yeshua we pray and bless You, Amen.
