💎 “And Yeshua came out and went as usual to the Mount of Olives, and the disciples followed Him. When he reached the place, He said to them, ‘Pray that you will not enter into temptation.’ And He pulled back about a stone’s throw from them, got on His knees, and began to pray, saying, ‘Father, if You are willing, take this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done.’ Now an angel from heaven appeared to Him and strengthened Him.” (Luk 22:39-43, TLV)

The LORD calls all of His children to pray and fast. Prayer and Fasting is a calling from God.
- Prayer and Fasting keeps us from not entering into temptation. (v40)
Prayer and fasting will sharpen our spiritual senses and increase our spiritual discernment for not giving in to temptation. Rev. Donald Young from College of Prayer International always exhorts the Body of Messiah not to fall into busyness! In our daily busy schedule, there are so many good and bad things that easily draw us away from God, the source of eternal life and eternal blessings. When we pray and fast, we set our time apart holy for seeking His face wholeheartedly. When we see Him face to face, our eyes are enlightened, our minds are clear, and our hearts are joyful! (Pro 15:30)
- Prayer and Fasting empowers us to overcome the obstacles. (v42)
Prayer and fasting empowers us to die to our own flesh and to live for His ultimate will and purposes. In our daily busy schedule, there are so many things that we may feel powerless to face and deal with, such as the outbreak of a pandemic disease, broken relations, parenting teenagers, challenges at work, or the collapses of government systems…etc. However, when we read the Bible, in every triumphant situation that is against all odds, prayer and fasting undoubtedly always plays a vital role! We can always rely on God to be overcomers!
🙏 Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for calling us to pray and fast in October again. In the past, we have received many breakthroughs and victories each time we sought your face earnestly. Today we ask You to guard our hearts for not entering into temptation once again, and please empower us to overcome all the challenges in our lives, so we may see You face to face in this season. In the Name of Yeshua we pray and bless you, Amen.
