💞 Dear Royal Praying Priests, shalom!
💎 “ So pay close attention to how you walk—not as unwise people but as wise. Make the most of your time because the days are evil. For this reason do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. And do not get drunk on wine, for that is recklessness. Instead, be filled with the Ruach (Spirit), speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making music in your heart to the Lord— always giving thanks for everything to God the Father, in the name of the Lord Yeshua the Messiah.” (Eph 5:15-20, TLV)
BBPN practised prayer and fasting in March to seek God’s face corporately. On 25 March at noon, the Holy Spirit revealed two significant visions which emphasised the urgency in surrendering all to God for getting the gospel out!
In Ephesians 5:16, the original text in Greek for “making the most of your time” (TLV) or “making the most of your opportunities” (NIV) literally means “redeeming the time (kairos)”. When God brings a kairos which is an opportune point of time into our lives, we should not misuse or squander it. We always have to seize the opportunity and live according to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
We have only one life, and it will soon be past. Only what’s done for the Lord will last forever. Moses asked God to teach him to number his days, so that he may get a heart for wisdom (Psm 90:12). Yeshua had that sense of urgency (Jhn 9:4, 12:35) and Apostle Paul also had that sense of urgency (Rom 13:11, 1Co 7:29-31). In Colossians 4:5, Paul also said, “Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.” (KJV)
How can we redeem the time? Think how much time is wasted in front of a TV or playing on a mobile phone. What if the same time is used to study the Word of God, conduct visitations, pray for someone, draw ourselves closer to God, learn a new skill or language? Think how the church can impact the world if the same time is used in prayer and reaching out to the poor and needy?
It is God’s will that we walk worthy of His calling, starting from being filled by the Holy Spirit, understanding God’s will, living wisely and redeeming the time.
🙏 Dear Abba Father, we admit that oftentimes we are lost in our daily routines and waste the time that You put in our hands. Please forgive us, teach us to number our days, and give us Your wisdom for living a life that is worthy of Your calling. In the Name of Yeshua we pray and bless You, Amen.
