💞 Dear Royal Praying Priests, shalom!
💎 “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.” (Eph 6:10, TLV)
There are five principles for the churches that thrive in the crisis. In addition to the first two principles – Churches that thrive in the crisis see the reality of unseen and have the battling mindset and use the spiritual weapon, let us look into the third principle this week.
3. Churches that thrive in the crisis walk in the authority that Messiah gives them and function out of that authority.
During crises, we cannot keep serving in the same old way. We need to wake up for transferring from people-pleasing and people-centred to God-pleasing and Messiah-centred ministries. The churches that thrive in the crisis receive the authority given by Messiah and function out of that authority. In Ephesians 6:10, the Greek word translated as “be strong” in the English Bible comes from a root word ἐνδυναμόω (endynamoo) meaning strengthen, increase in strength, enable, empower and be made strong. We carry the dynamite power when we are in the Lord and in His mighty power.
To live out the kingdom’s authority, we need to know God and know ourselves.
A. Knowing God
If we walk in the authority given by Messiah, we know God by obeying Him, obeying the authority that He sends to us (Mat 8:9-10), and obeying the Word of God completely and radically (Jhn 14:21-23).
B. Knowing Ourselves
If we walk in the authority given by Messiah, we know ourselves:
- as the overcomers, and we are free from strongholds. (Eph 6:11-12)
- as the listeners, and our ears are in tuned with what the Holy Spirit speaks. (Rev 2:7, Isa 50:4-5)
- as the zealous warriors, and we remove idols. (Jer 1:10)
- as the people of faith, and we live beyond limits. (Heb 11:6)
- as the pioneers, and we build our foundation according to the kingdom principles. (1Co 3:10)
If we walk in the authority given by Messiah, we do the following:
- live a holy life, and we have zero tolerance for pornography! (2Ti 2:22)
- pray effectively. (Jas 5:16-18)
- mentor others intentionally, and we develop deep friendship and kingdom partnership with them. (2Ti 2:2)
🙏 Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You for giving all authority in heaven and earth to Yeshua, the Messiah. Today we submit ourselves to You once again. Please help us to walk in the Lord and in His mighty power, so that we can know You more and know ourselves better to live a Messiah-centred life and function in the authority given by Him. In the name of Yeshua we pray and bless you, Amen.
