🍞 Manna for Meditation 103

20 October, 2020

💞 Dear Royal Praying Priests, shalom!

💎 “ We have this hope as an anchor of the soul, both firm and steady—a hope that enters the inner place behind the curtain. Yeshua has entered there as a forerunner on our behalf, having become Kohen Gadol ‘forever, according to the order of Melchizedek.’” (Heb 6:19-20)

💎 “Therefore, to make the people holy through His own blood, Yeshua also suffered outside the gate. So let us go to Him outside the camp, bearing His disgrace.” (Heb 13:12-13)

Today is Day 20 of the Prayer and Fasting season. Let us continue to review and reflect on the key points from The Days of Blowing the Shofar – Prepare Yourself for Prayer and Fasting by Rev. Peter Yang.

“Connect with God and People in Prayer and Fasting” is the third chapter. It clearly conveys one of the main themes in the Book of Hebrew, which is entering the inner place behind the curtain and going outside the camp.

  1. Enter the Inner Place behind the Curtain to Connect with God

From Manna for Meditation 102, we have learnt that prayer and fasting is to set our time apart to seek God, and to be vigilant in our prayers to know His will.

Without Yeshua who shed His blood and opened a new and living way for us through the curtain, it is impossible for us to enter the inner place behind the curtain. (Heb 10:19-20) When we fast and pray, we enter the Most Holy Place to connect with God by the blood of Yeshua.  Most of the intercessors enjoy this glorious and intimate moment with God, and truly understand that nothing else can ever replace God’s presence.  Oftentimes we do not want to leave that special place, and we hope the time stops just right there!  It is a heaven touching earth encounter.

  1. Go outside the Camp to Connect with People

Once we are enveloped by God’s warmth and love, no one wants to leave His embrace. The LORD could just bring us to heaven for enjoying His presence eternally, and yet He leaves us here on the earth for a greater purpose.  We ought to go outside the camp to connect with people!  A mature intercessor is not an isolated spiritual person.  God wants us to love one another, and to share His love to others.  During prayer and fasting, let us examine our interpersonal relations.  Do you feel lonely in your faith journey?  Is there anyone to pray for you or pray with you?  We are called not only to enter the Inner Place behind the curtain, but also to go outside the camp!

🙏 Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for drawing us near to You through the sacrifice of Yeshua, our Messiah. We long to reconnect with You during prayer and fasting.  Please give your all to us as we give our all to You!  Empower us to release Your glory and presence when going into workplaces, campuses, markets or homes.  Thank You for making us Your ambassadors to share Your love and light to the world.  In the Name of Yeshua we pray and bless you, Amen.
