An Unexpected Route
Some encounters may appear coincidental, yet they conceal God’s intricate arrangement. This Jewish mother visited several Beit Simcha across Taiwan, with Taipei being the final stop of her journey. She had never heard of this land before, yet through a choice made during a transit, she unexpectedly stepped into this journey of exploration.
The Touch of Language
We had previously invited a Praying Priest from Central Asia to record a blessing and prayer in Russian. When it was played at the table, she listened quietly, and tears welled up in her eyes. In that moment, I knew deeply that God was touching her heart through a language familiar to her.
Afterwards, I softly sang two worship songs in Russian, using simple melodies to convey God’s love through her own language.
A Banquet of Grace
In our conversation, she raised questions about suffering, children facing famine in Africa, and the essence of faith. These questions seemed to reflect a long-standing inner search within her heart.
I did not rush to provide standard answers, but instead shared personal life testimonies and stories. She was also curious about why Christians share the gospel. I pointed to the meal on the table and responded, “Do you enjoy this lunch? When something is good, we naturally want to share it with those we love.” When people have tasted the goodness of the Lord’s grace, they naturally desire for those around them to partake as well.
After hearing this, she humorously shared a joke: “If one eats alone, one can eat more.” We looked at each other and couldn’t help but laugh together. Through this exchange, the atmosphere gradually softened.
The Comfort of the Burning Bush
Back at home, I read aloud to her a prophetic blessing our team had previously received—the “ Voice of Burning Bush.” As she listened, she expressed astonishment with repeated exclamations. It felt like being seen and understood.
From surprise, to quietness, and then to openness, she began to share the burdens that had been weighing on her heart. I stayed beside her in stillness, listening attentively, offering comfort and encouragement with gentle words.
A Prayer at Parting
During the farewell prayer, as our hands were joined, the sense of unfamiliarity had already faded, replaced by a profound connection. Before leaving, she left a simple yet meaningful expression of gratitude: “Thank you for supporting Israel during these difficult times in Israel!”
This encounter reminds us once again:
When we are willing to receive others with love and truth, God Himself will move, leading hearts from distance into openness. Even when language is limited and cultures differ, His presence can transcend all barriers and personally touch the human heart.
When the heart is touched, distance is no longer distance;
When love is experienced, answers are no longer merely answers.
