In the middle of our Month of Prayer and Fasting in June, the Holy Spirit prompted us to take our prayers to the streets. Therefore, we were privileged to participate in a prayer walking team for one specific business district which suffered from great business loss during the pandemic. Moreover, the Lord also guides us to prepare for a prayer walk around our new office to celebrate the 3rd anniversary of Burning Bush Prayer & Mission Association in Taiwan.
Prayer walking is taking our prayers to the streets, so we can be involved in a powerful dynamic of praying on sight with insight. When we prayer walk, we desire to release the manifested presence of God, and to see the people and the land return to Him. Prayer walking is walking together with God with a prayerful heart, so we use our senses to see the sights, to hear the sounds, to smell the odours or scents, and to feel the emotions or sensations. We engage our body, mind and spirit in this powerful ministry of prayer!
Before Nehemiah set his foot in Jerusalem, he carried a burden to weep, mourn, fast and pray for the city before the God of heaven. Upon his arrival, his sensitive heart activated him to pray walk and inspect the city at night. After receiving strategies from God, he immediately mobilised the local leaders and people to participate in the significant work for God and for Jerusalem.
Joshua and Caleb walked throughout the Promised Land with godly vision and steadfast faith, so they were able to declare God’s power and purposes despite the rest of the scout team giving bad reports. When we walk on the streets, we will surely encounter “giants” in that very place. It is very important for us to keep communicating with God, receiving His vision, plans and purposes, and declaring His will by faith. Prayer walking is also a spiritual warfare, and our powerful weapon is worship and praise. Our God is enthroned in the midst of praises when we worship, honour and adore Him. When our God arises, all his enemies are trembled and scattered!
🙏 Dear Father, thank You for calling us to the prayer walking ministry. We believe that when we tread on the land together with You in obedience and by faith, the darkness will be pushed away, the spiritual atmosphere will be changed, and the people and the land are blessed eternally. Please mobilise us, gather us, commission us and use us for Your purposes to transform our homes, communities, offices, cities and nations! In the Name of Yeshua we pray and bless You, Amen!
