💎 Keep yourselves in the love of God, eagerly waiting for the mercy of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah that leads to eternal life.” (Jud 1:21, TLV)

Have you ever been blaming God for lack of blessings? If God’s love is unconditional, why do we have to keep ourselves in the love of God? Why do we sometimes not even feel His love at all?

  1. We are kept safe for Yeshua the Messiah. (Jud 1:1)

We have such a powerful promise from God – we are loved in God the Father, and we are kept safe for Yeshua!  “For Yeshua” can also be “by Yeshua” or “in Yeshua”!  Regardless of how we feel, the truth is that we are continually preserved by Yeshua in all our circumstances. Yeshua paid a big price to redeem us at the cross, and He promised to save us completely and love us until the end (Heb 7:25, Jhn 13:1). His death and resurrection are our guarantee.

  1. We have to keep watchful. (Jud 1:5-16)

The devil always seeks every opportunity to devour us, and we are constantly surrounded by seductive forces (1Pe 5:8-9). The truth is that we are in God’s love, and it is also very crucial for us to keep vigilant and not to fall into traps, such as the unbelief of the children of Israel, pride of the angels, sexual licentiousness of the people of Sodom and Gomorrah, hatred and murder of Cain, greed of Balaam, and jealousy and rebellion of Korah. We have to keep alert and watchful!

  1. We have to keep ourselves in the love of God. (Jud 1:17-21)

We can never do more to make God love us more. Neither can we do less to make Him love us less. We do not have to do certain things to win His love. What we need to do is to keep ourselves in the love of God.  In Greek, τηρέω (tereo) means to reserve, to observe, to watch, to preserve, to hold fast, to guard, or to attend to carefully.  We can hold fast to God’s love and guard it by building ourselves up in our most holy faith, studying the Word of God, praying in the Holy Spirit, and keeping our arms open and outstretched ready for the mercy of our Messiah!

🙏 Dear Father, thank You for your powerful promise. We understand that nothing external can ever separate us from your love.  Please make us watchful and always say no to temptations by your Spirit and power.  When we are seized by fear or overwhelmed by anxieties and worries, please help us focus on the Truth, pray in the Holy Spirit, dwell in your love, look up to Yeshua and bring Him into our situations.  In the Name of Yeshua we pray and bless You, Amen.
