💞 Dear Royal Praying Priests, shalom!

💎 “And whenever you fast, do not become sad-faced like the hypocrites, for they neglect their faces to make their fasting evident to men. Amen, I tell you, they have their reward in full! But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that your fasting won’t be evident to men, but to your Father who is in secret. And your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you.” (Mat 6:16-18, TLV)

In the Old Testament, we often see God’s people fasting and praying in times of troubles, repentance, wars, or distress to seek His help and deliverances.  In the New Testament, Yeshua taught His disciples how to fast.  In truth, Yeshua also expects each one of us to fast!

Starting from 2021, BBPN is determined to practise fasting and prayer three times a year, and 30 days each time.  We encourage every Praying Priest to participate at least once before the end of this year.  We have done fasting and prayer once in March, and we are fasting and praying again in June.

A fast without prayer is just having a diet; it is not a spiritual discipline.  There are many ways to do it, such as full fast, Daniel fast or fast one meal each day. Please follow the lead of the Holy Spirit and find out the best way for you both physically and spiritually.

Fasting and prayer is neither to manipulate God nor to appear more spiritual or righteous than other people. The key is our motive, which is to get close to God, desire for Him, pray to Him, hear Him better and do His will!

🙏 Dear Father, we understand that there are so many benefits of fasting and prayer. BUT we do not come to You for merely receiving blessings for our own good.  We are committed to seeking Your face and entering into a closer union with You.  Please break the bondages of sins or bad habits in our lives, and set us free to follow You wholeheartedly.  You are the only reason of who we are and what we do!  We love You and we honour You! In the Name of Yeshua we pray and bless You, Amen.
