Pastor Jamie Tsengď˝BBPN Beit Simchaď˝October 21, 2025
âThe King will reply, âTruly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.âââ Matthew 25:40Â
Today, under pouring rain, I held the hand of an Israeli girl as we walked toward the MRT station. Her eyes were filled with emotionâand a softness that seemed long forgotten. I said to her, âYou need Godâs healing. He loves you. You are precious and unique. You must return to Him.â This was no random encounter. It was a divine appointment.
đ§łA Journey Intertwined
P and A are Israeli backpackers. On September 30, before heading to Thailand, they asked if they could leave their large luggage at BBPN Beit Simcha. Three weeks later, they flew back to Taipei to retrieve itâjust hours before catching a flight to Japan. That brief moment of reconnection sparked something deeper.
The first time we met, Pâwho looked strikingly like Yeshuaâwore a T-shirt with Eastern Indian patterns. A had hippie-style curls and a gentle demeanour. When they returned in the rain, A carried the scent of incense often used in Hindu or Buddhist rituals and wore a similar patterned shirt. They brought me sweet gifts from Thailandâa cute elephant souvenir and a small pouch. Their kindness was touching.
đExchanging Love, Awakening Spirit
I quickly offered them my prepared gifts: âNingâs Aromaâ essential oil rollers and âNingâs Brewâ kombucha. They were delighted, immediately opening and trying them.
I shared the story of Yeshua healing the woman with the issue of blood, gave them a prayer tassel keychain, and told my testimony of salvation and cancer recovery. They listened intently, amazed and moved.
My father came out to bless them: âWelcome to our home. Our house is Beit HaMashiachâthe House of the Messiah. May Yeshua protect you on your journey. You must believe in Him!â To our surprise, my fatherâs eyes welled with tears. P and A were visibly touched. When they heard âBeit HaMashiach,â their eyes widenedâas if something deep within had been stirred.
đ˛A Sacred Meal
We hurried through the rain to a nearby vegetarian restaurant. P ordered bibimbap; A chose Southeast Asian curry noodle soup. Before eating, I prayed in Yeshuaâs name. A was deeply moved and asked to pray too. She offered thanks to Abba Fatherâa gesture she hadnât made in a very long time.
A shared that she had always wished to eat soft tofu in hot soup, and to her delight, that wish came true in this meal. We toasted to her upcoming 29th birthday.
đ ď¸Their Story, Godâs Design
P began traveling at age 23 and has been on the road for seven years. He enjoys a nomadic lifestyle, occasionally returning to Israel to work and save up for more travel. When I asked what kind of work he does, he said, âCarpentry.â I laughed and said, âYou really are like Yeshua!â A has also been traveling for seven years. They met just a year ago in Spain.
When I asked about their families, A shared that she left home at 14 and came from an ultra-Orthodox Jewish background. For her, the word âGodâ carries painful memories. She calls herself âex-religion.â Yet she was grateful for the prayers from the BBPN. She said the way we loved her was something she had never experienced before.
đFarewell Blessings and a Call to Return
Before parting, I shared a prophetic blessing received by our Taiwan intercession team on October 13. They were astonished and said, âThis is exactly what we needed. Please send us the words!â
In the rain, I held Aâs hand as we took a shortcut to the MRT. I told her again, âYou need Godâs healing. He loves you. You are precious and unique. You must return to Him.â Oh Lord, Your beloved children need You so deeply. We entrust them into Your hands. Only You can save and heal.
đď¸Conclusion: Becoming His Dwelling Place
This brief moment of hospitality may seem small, but it left a lasting imprint on the hearts of these Israeli travellers. May they continue their journey with courage, rediscovering the One who created and loves them. And may we all become a dwelling place for the Lordâdoing unto the least of these, that they may see His face and feel His touch.
